1932 MG J2
A fully prepared and usable J2 like no other.
Fabulous to look at and to drive J2 that not only looks but is fully prepared and goes fabulously
There is nothing to do to this J2 other than enjoy and conduct normal routine maintenance.
A bold statement indeed.
Where do we start:
Let us start 10 years ago when the current owner purchased the vehicle.
Looking to purchase the ‘best available’ this J2 was secured from the well known Barry Walker.
A stunning example in all respects.
Soon after, with a view to competing in Trialing with the VSCC an engine of good fortune was available again from Barry Walker and indeed was swiftly purchased.
An engine of providence with the following details for your enjoyment.
An engine originally built for Dieter Rolf’s Peking to Paris race. A matching pair, this being the spare (just in case as you do of course) and never used as the first engine did the entire race.
Engine by Tom Dark, Phoenix crank, Carrillo rods, Cosworth pistons, water pump, J4 style tubular manifold, 1 1/8th HV2 carbs, modern clutch conversion.
Let us just say, this engine was purchased at considerable cost and is ready to be ‘blown’ if the new owner wishes.
Thoughout the entire last 10 years, thousands have been lavished on this J2 to not only make it competitive but reliable.
Something to also take into account is the owner himself. In addition to the receipts held on file, all the work has been done by to highest level by the professional engineer owner.
The cost for his labour of course, being a labour of love. We would not like to think what his labour rate would have been!!
Supporting details

This super vehicle was then retired from trialing as the owner decided to concentrate on another project. The car never failed to finish an event.
Today:
To prepare for the next owner and in keeping with how this vehicle has been so well looked after, a decision to repaint the vehicle was taken. Another no expense project, a repaint has been completed this year, with paperwork supporting 350hrs of work: As you can imagine, this vehicle is now immaculate..to match its mechanical robustness.
